Château Fontarèche Corbières Rosé (2006) 75cl £ 58.20 12 £ 4.85

Traditional Rosé: a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Picpoul Noir, this has some weight on the nose, and soft fruit on the palate: easy and agreable. Great value

Domaine Alquier, Faugères

Faugères Rosé, Gilbert Alquier (2006) 75cl £ 100.20 12 £ 8.35

This wonderful rosé Faugères, made in cuve, is exemplary with none of the rusticity we sometimes expect of Faugères: Strawberry and peppery it is made from Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, and from free run juice. A lovely refreshing wine

Sancerre Rosé (2006) 75cl £ 136.80 12 £ 11.40

Daniel started the harvest late in 2006. The poor conditions in August set him back, but everything came back into balance with the perfect conditions of early September, and the 2006 - for both white and rosé - is as good as any vintage we’ve tasted in the cellar.

Chinon Rosé (2005) 75cl £ 92.40 12 £ 7.70
Chinon Rosé (2006) 75cl £ 92.40 12 £ 7.70

This is made solely from Cabernet Franc vines grown on gentle south facing slopes just south of Chinon. The 2005 is a rich, well structured wine and is essentially dry. The 2006 was picked before the rains that beset the region and is perhaps more typical Chinon with nice fruit and fresh acidity. Wonderful wine.

SANCERRE
François Cotat, Chavignol

We are not usually prone to quoting Mr P but.....'There are no Sancerres greater than those made by Cotat.'

Quinta Clarissa VdlT de Castilla y Léon (Rueda) (2005) 75cl £ 100.20 12 £ 8.35

Didier Belondrade makes a tiny quantity of this from his young vines at La Seca, This Rosado is made from 100% Tempranillo. Only 5,000 bottles are produced, from a single parcel, harvested in one day. It is partially fermented in oak barrels and has a hint of vanilla alongside the ripe fruit on the nose. A more food oriented Rosé, the colour is a wonderful deep garnet, which shows off the very modern label, true to Didier’s arty presentation style

Langenloiser Rosé, vom Zweigelt (2006) 75cl £ 112.20 12 £ 9.35

We were very taken with this : pretty dark salmon colour, red fruits and pepper. Gentle tannins. Refreshing and moreish.. Lovely balance. The 2006 is every bit as good as the 2005

The Ruins Rosé (2007) 75cl £ 64.20 12 £ 5.35

This wine is made solely from Pinotage and was bottled the first week of April. We have doubled the allocation this year, but still fully expect this to sell out very quickly. A cracking wine and organic to boot.
